LG Optimus U Features,Review,Price and Specs

LG Optimus U

Let's face it: free mobile phone are usually synonymous with shit. This is what U Optimus is trying to change - and, at least on paper, looks like it might be able to perform the task. However, there is a phone for sale U. S. Cellular and LG, two of them do not show the true talent when it comes to Android - and there are many things that could wrong, that the lack of Flash (and the device and the browser) and 600 MHz processor, thus the two companies do not? There is a phone that do not suck free Android is finally available? You'd be surprised.

Optimus U is not exactly the most exciting phone in the market, but its features are far from obsolete:

3.2-inch HVGA (320 x 480) LCD
600 MHz processor
Adreno 200 graphics card
1500 mAh
512 MB of RAM, 170 MB of ROM
2 GB MicroSD card from the box with support for cards up to 32GB capacity
800/1900 MHz CDMA radio, WiFi 802.11b / g.
3.2 megapixel with video capture 480p
3.5 mm headphone jack

Optimus U has a distinctive high end does not immediately obvious that the phone is not a budget unit Android. Along with her sexy (and unusual), the blue color, it is clear that LG really put a lot of thought into the design of Optimus.

On the front of the camera, you'll find a 3.2-inch screen, William S. Cellular and LG logos, the listener, the standard table Android buttons (Menu, Home, Back and search, respectively), and the chin to the back of the classroom. The latter, in particular, seems very well - while some of the latest generation of HTC phones was "chin" with a view to the street, Optimus U has a slight bend at the bottom is going to do "is very comfortable keys ( in addition to the parts to look even thinner than otherwise).

Notably missing? LED flash, which is absent in all models of Optimus One That may not seem a big deal, but it turns out, even with the warning system LED Android excellent physique can be very annoying. Of course, most cell function does not include an information system, or if the U target market probably will not help much, but it is frustrating for experienced users of Android.

Speaking of parties, that is where there is a MicroSD card slot, volume control, camera button and voice marker keys. In addition, the summit contains a 3.5 mm headphone jack and power button and the bottom, where the microUSB port and the microphone hole is located.

There are more than a wheel button on them, but despite the aforementioned inverted chin definitely adds to the softness of the parties ", Optimus U also has a number of hidden sexual tricks up his sleeve. For example, there is a silver band around the top of a telephone jack, power button and volume control are integrated. Moreover, the entire phone is surprisingly slim, especially when you take the fact that this cheap device into account - in fact, is only 0.52? thick at its thickest point.

The rear panel contains a 3.2 megapixel camera, and two sidebars U.S. Cellular and LG logos. This is fairly trivial - it is better than none other than the battery compartment of your average smartphone.

However, lifting the lid to discover another part of the design of LG obviously put a lot of thought - in the best tradition of HTC EVO 4G, Droid Incredible and Aria, entirely within U Optimus money. Although not as striking red sexy (and yellow) on the inside above the HTC phones, has a sleek and Robotics (but at the same time very humble) and aesthetics. Honestly, I like much more than I, like all other structures - if not more.

Displaying Optimus U is almost exactly what you expect from a phone with the company, which offers a free service contract. This does not mean that it is mediocre, but if you like Super AMOLED, then you better look elsewhere.

Despite the 3.2? this is the right size for a camera of this caliber color screen, and much less enjoyable. They are not so bad - I had actually seen worse - but it is more blurred than any other smartphone I've seen in the last year or so. Also, I'm not sure why, but the tracks are very noticeable on this phone - although it may be a side effect of addiction oleofobnoe screens.

On a positive note, the screen becomes a pleasant light and viewing angles are not so bad (things start looking a little yellow when viewed from the side, but hopefully it is).

As for writing, was not as easy as it was in the Droid Pro, which surprised me, because the Pro screen, in fact, less than one-tenth of an inch. Out of the box, LG offers Swype keyboard and the Android market, or that I liked, so I ended up loading the keyboard gingerbread. Then I continued my speed and accuracy considerably, yet it was not exactly fun. Suffice to say, if they are heavy texter, U.S. Cellular and LG Apex itself may be the best option for you.

The performance really shines in Optimus U - in fact, a race through the quadrant confirms that the more capable than the two original Droid Motorola and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, which has a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU. Not bad for a budget phone whose resources are limited to 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7627 processor with.

As for everyday use, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Although the rate of Optimus U is not entirely comparable with the performance you expect from my EVO 4G, is still more than acceptable considering the Optimus U is concerned. Even with the material above limitations, the phone was able to run smoothly Angry Birds, Pandora, while in the background. So yes, if speed is what bothers you, your fears have just been fired.

Battery life was also surprisingly good - the phone was able to play the video from YouTube, Google officially the first half of day 2 of E / S, 2010, about six times, which was around 4:30. By comparison, the mighty Droid X only lasted three hours and twenty minutes, but two Droid lasted three hours and forty. Once again, the functions of mobile customers Optimus U, probably used to have a battery life, even better than that, not so shocking to them as for us fans of Android.

Unfortunately, the call quality of the Optimus U was not as impressive as the overall performance and battery life. Often called cut, and the static was easily audible in some cases. Transfer rates is not ideal, or the data have been - I have received 1 to 2 Mbps downstream, even when I was a strong signal (which, yes, I had to go for a while).
